Mirko Rima is Lead Machine Learning Engineer at gAIn360, with a strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and MLOps. His expertise lies in designing and deploying end-to-end machine learning systems, from research and model development to scalable cloud-based production environments.
He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Milano-Bicocca. During his academic career, he conducted research on gesture recognition, Brain-Computer Interfaces, and IoT-based architectures, which led to his publication “U-WeAr: User Recognition on Wearable Devices through Arm Gesture.”
Mirko started his professional journey as a Research Assistant at the Informatics and Robotics for Automation Lab (IRALAB) of the University of Milano-Bicocca, focusing on image recognition, IoT, and embedded systems. He then advanced as a Machine Learning Researcher, where he applied clustering and neural models for user recognition and BCI systems.
Transitioning into industry, Mirko worked at Vedrai as Data Scientist and later Machine Learning Engineer, where he specialized in predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and cloud-based architectures. He then joined Polaris Engineering as Senior Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on MLOps strategies, AWS infrastructure, and large language model integration.
In his current role at gAIn360, Mirko leads projects that combine advanced time series forecasting, clustering models, and large language models for financial services. He is responsible for optimizing ML pipelines, architecting cloud infrastructures on AWS and GCP, and integrating generative AI applications such as chatbots and document analysis for automation and decision support.
His professional interests include machine learning, MLOps, and cloud computing, with a focus on building robust, scalable AI systems that bridge research innovation and industrial application.
